What to do when you get here

FISHING:
Catches in good years have ranged up to 165 fish although the wild Atlantic salmon has become almost an endangered species of late and catches have decreased substantially. The fishing is still good enough to attract family and friends, but we have taken steps to diversify our activities. The wilderness setting offers rare opportunities. The Upsalquitch, which above the camp flows through a deep valley far from any settlement, offers an experience almost unique in the Maritimes. We generally "put in" about twenty kilometres above the camp and paddle down four and a half hours, including breaks for lunch, and a swim, to Watiqua. The Restigouche itself is nearby and trips are only limited by the imagination.

BIKING & HIKING NEARBY:
The camp has three trail bikes. The abandoned rail line running past the camp has become a part of what is known as the Restigouche Trail. Check Restigouchetrail.tripod.com for details of the trail and pictures of the river near the camp. Again, excursions maybe arranged to suit. The camp offers excellent opportunities for hiking.

GOLF:
There is an 18 hole golf course 50 kilometres away, the Resigouche Golf Club.

OTHER NEARBY ATTRACTIONS:
The beautiful Gaspe Peninsula is also close by. And of course, nothing could be finer than sitting on the verandah with a good book or sitting around the fire on the often cool evenings with good friends and family.
